Brown City Community Schools is one of the top well-rounded public school districts in the entire “Thumb Area”. We are located in the southwest corner of Sanilac County, with our school borders also extending into Lapeer and St. Clair Counties.
Our district is located on one campus with two buildings. Brown City Elementary is a preschool-6th grade building, and Brown City Jr./Sr. High School is a 7th-12th grade building. Our district has approximately 750 students in grades K-12.
Brown City Community Schools is known for our “Family Atmosphere” and welcoming environment! Being a small-town school allows our staff to build strong relationships with our students, their families, and the entire community.
Brown City Community Schools is focused on meeting the needs and interests of all our students. It is our goal to provide our students with a quality educational experience while also preparing them for life after school. Our district has high academic expectations with multiple options (electives and extra-curricular) to support our students’ interests.
Financially, out district is very stable with a healthy fund balance. This stability allows our district to be innovative when determining new programs and curricular needs. It is our goal to provide our staff and students with strong curricular resources and the proper technology to teach in today’s learning environment.
We are very proud of what we do at Brown City Community Schools and what we can offer our students and families. If you would like to learn more about our district or have questions, please contact Neil Kohler (superintendent) or one of the building principals.
