Mr. Tony Burton

Brown City Community Schools is very fortunate to have two long time educators and coaches leading our athletic department.  Tony Burton and Cindy Burton are co-athletic directors for the district.

Following a distinguished teaching/administrative career at Brown City High School, Tony Burton decided to run the Athletic Department part-time in retirement. “Coach Burton” was the Green Devil Varsity Boys’ Basketball coach for 25 years amassing a Hall-of-Fame like 401 victories; averaging over 17 wins per season. Coach Burton won 10 league titles, 14 district titles, and 1 Regional title. 10 of his players moved on the next level as college players. Aside from basketball, Coach Burton also spent time as the Varsity Baseball coach and JV football coach.

Mrs. Cindy Burton

Cindy Burton is currently a junior high science teacher for half the day and co-athletic director the other half of the day.  In addition to these duties, she is also the varsity girls’ basketball coach, 8th grade volleyball coach, and junior high girls’ track coach.  

Tony and Cindy have three children (Kelly, AJ, and Kari) who all went on to play college basketball after graduating from BCHS.
